Northallerton 10K 2021 Race Cancelled

Please see below a message from Thomas – the Northallerton 10K race organiser.
Next race will take place on Sunday 29th May 2022
Hello our wonderful runners.
An email will be sent out to all entrants regarding this years race, so please check your email in the coming days.
I am writing to you with further sad news that we are unable to hold our event this year. This is not only incredibly frustrating for our runners but also for our charity Pendragon Community Trust that has endured an incredibly tough year with it being closed all this time.
Due to the hurdles that have to be jumped to throw a safe event, we are unable to go ahead this year. We are a small charity, run by volunteers and the health & safety risk is too high and certain restrictions would make it near impossible to throw this event. We had the necessary discussions with various parties involved and tried very hard to throw the event (hence the late notice) but sadly it is not to be in 2021.
I want to personally thank you so very much for entering this year’s race. As you know, 100% of the 10K proceeds support local Northallerton charity, Pendragon Community Trust, all of which are vital to maintain the facility operations, so it is not a decision we took lightly.
With this in mind, we are transferring all entrants to 29th May 2022 where we truly hope this is all behind us and we can throw a cracking race. I am afraid we do not have the facility to refund any entrants fee, they must be transferred to next year as the cut off has been missed from last years delayed event. You do not need to do anything, it will be done automatically and you will receive a reminder email when nearing next years event to remind you of your place. This is close to a sold out event already, so if you cannot attend in 2022 please do sell your place to a friend and we can transfer your place if you email us: Northallerton10k@gmail.com – you can do this closer to the time if you wish.
These are challenging times, frustrating times, but I give you my word, this makes for an even bigger celebration of our amazing running community come May 2022. I thank you for your continued support and patience throughout this tricky period.
My very best wishes to you & your family in this difficult time.
Most of all, take good care of yourselves and those around you.
Thomas.
