Job Description

The County Town of North Yorkshire, Northallerton is seeking to appoint a BID and Town Centre Manager to:

  • Promote the High Street as a retail, commercial, entertainment and leisure hub;
  • Broaden the attractiveness of the High Street to users in terms of its retail mix and wider leisure and commercial appeal;
  • Support the performance of the businesses located in the High Street;
  • Bring about physical improvement and develop and add to the cultural offer of activities.

The successful candidate will be accountable to the Northallerton BID Limited through the BID Board.

They will undertake a range of activities to develop a vibrant town centre which serves the interests of businesses, residents and visitors.  These activities fall under the 4 main themes of the BID namely Marketing – Raising our profile and our offering; Better Business Support; A Quality Appearance and Environment and Safe and Secure.  They will include organising events to increase High Street footfall, supporting business development and developing initiatives to make the High Street safer, cleaner and more attractive to all its users.

This exciting and challenging role requires sensitivity and the ability to build and sustain positive working relationships with stakeholders.

Job Title: Northallerton BID and Town Centre Manager

Job Type: Fixed term contract until 31 March 2022

Location: Northallerton

Salary: Competitive salary to be negotiated

Hours of work: 22.5 with some weekend, evening, early morning and bank holidays expected.
